Cremation

Cremation is the process of combustion, vaporization and oxidation of a human body  to basic chemical compounds, such as gases, ashes and mineral fragments retaining the cremation remains of bone with ashes which is dispersed in various ways. Cremation is an alternative to burial or other forms of disposal of human dead bodies

In our country, unlike the more of open air-cremation, now a day’s cremation is done in a crematorium.

• Electric Cremation done in a crematory that is housed within a electric crematorium which comprises one or two cremation furnaces. The electric cremator is able to generate temperatures of 600 –800 °C (1,100–1470 °F) to ensure to cremate the body.
• Though the time required for cremation varies from body to body, average of 1 hour time is required per body as per furnace cremation rating.

Cremation Remains

After cremation, the bones and ash remaining roughly about 3.5% of the body's original mass (2.5% in children) available as “cremation remains” at the ash pit.
